What is ManDown?

ManDown weekend is an opportunity to gather with other men to link arms in the pursuit of a life of service to Christ. We have a simple formula that we believe will make for a great weekend.

Teaching Sessions: We will gather together for Biblical Teaching on Authentic Masculinity. This year we will explore the message of 1 Corinthians as it is summarized in the words of 1 Corinthians 16:13–14, Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. [14] Let all that you do be done in love. (ESV)

Recreational Excursions: There will be a variety of outdoor and recreational opportunities on Saturday to include but not limited to hiking, fishing, golf, canoeing, shooting range, sleeping, sitting, and more.

Friendship: The weekend will provide many of you the opportunity to see old friends within our network of churches as well as the opportunity to forge new ones. It is our hope that our churches would be marked by strong friendship and brotherhood and weekends like this are a way to make that possible.

Some of the activities offered that day will include an additional cost. The excursions will be organized and communicated via e-mail following registration.

Linens & Towels
Linens and towels are NOT provided at the NOVA 4H campground.

We will be staying in Congressman J. Kenneth Robinson Hall, often referred to as "Congressman Hall", which features heating, air conditioning, and a private bath in each of it's 24 lodging rooms. Every room has outside access so guests can enjoy the breathtaking mountainside view that the 4-H Center is famous for. Built at the top of the mountain, Congressman Hall's back deck and porch are a perfect place to watch the sun set or a thunderstorm roll into Harmony Hollow, or just enjoy a quiet moment reading or reflecting.

The rooms each have 4 beds and participants will be arranged to lodge with other participants from their local church.
